Description

1871-CC Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-1, the only known dies. Top 30 Variety. Rarity-4+. Misplaced Date. EF Details--Cleaned (PCGS).
If the example in the preceding lot eludes one's bidding efforts, the present offering for a somewhat more affordable Extremely Fine coin represents a second significant opportunity to acquire a numismatically desirable representative of this rare CC-Mint issue. Plenty of semi-prooflike reflectivity remains in the fields on both sides, which combined with generally sharp detail provides plenty of visual appeal. The texture is glossy, explaining the PCGS qualifier but, while we also note light hairlining, there are no sizable or otherwise individually mentionable marks. Retoning nicely in smoky silver-gray and sandy-gold, this key date Liberty Seated dollar is sure to be of interest to many bidders in the today's highly competitive numismatic market.
PCGS# 6967. NGC ID: 24ZH.

Estimate: $10000
