1788 Massachusetts Half Cent. Ryder 1-B, W-6010. Rarity-2. EF-45 (PCGS).
Handsome reddish-copper and deep autumn-brown patina to hard, satiny surfaces. A few shallow flan flaws are evident in the upper right and lower left obverse field areas, with ancient surface build up around the design elements more pronounced on the reverse. Well defined overall with most features sharp. Ryder 1-B is the more common of the two die pairs of 1788 Massachusetts half cent and is one of the more available Massachusetts copper varieties in the finer circulated and Mint State grades. This original Choice EF would fit comfortably into many type sets.
