Rev : IL SINDACO DI ROMA / CLELIO DARIDA / A / EDWIN E. ALDRIN / INTREPIDA ASTRONAUTA / DELLA / MISSIONE APOLLO 11 / PRIMO UOMO SULLA LUNA / CAMPIOGLIO. 15 OTTOBRE 1969 engraved in an otherwise plain field. Hallmarked 986 at 6 o'clock of reverse. Edge : plain. Pleasing antique silver surfaces with no handling marks of any kind noted. Housed in a blue leather case with spring closure, a gilt SPQR with shield on top. The interior is blue plush and cream silk with no markings. Interestingly, Neil Armstrong's version of this exact medal sold in 2018 for $1625 but without the original case.
