MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, Uncertain mint in Cilicia. NGC VF. Graffito.
Pr-2949. Struck in the name of Alexander III (the Great). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; wreath in left field, ∆I below throne. Despite some graffito and less than pretty surfaces, this example provides a strong strike and is a solid representative of a better type.
