MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (16.65 gms), Uncertain Mint in Cilicia. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Edge Chips.
Pr-2949 (Side?). Struck in the name of Alexander III (the Great). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding scepter and eagle; wreath in left field, ∆I below throne. Lightly toned and fairly well centered, this example has received a photo certificate from NGC rather than encapsulation on account of the noted edge chips.
