A cut sheet of four Plain Back $5s from the Hillsdale National Bank in New Jersey. Containing plate positions A-D for Serial No. 10345, this appears to be one of several sheets preserved and later cut from this bank in the Serial No. range from 10339 to 10346. All four notes are full-margined Uncirculated 63's, though the plate position C note was marked as "Previously Mounted." We are somewhat baffled by this, as all four notes appear to be nearly identical to us and we can detect no evidence. The "Minor Stains" on the "A" note are indeed minor, and affect nothing. The "D" position note has an extra broad bottom margin. Over time as cut sheet notes are sold individually and go their separate ways, it will become progressively more difficult to acquire all four notes from a sheet together. PMG comments "Minor Stains" on the first note and "Previously Mounted" on the third note.
