Description

1901-S Liberty Head Eagle. MS-65 (NGC). CAC.

This exceptionally smooth and well preserved example will be just right for a high quality gold type set. A stunning Gem toned in a mix of yellow-gold and pale ivory hues. Well struck with uniform satin luster and exceptional eye appeal for the assigned grade. Approval by CAC confirms the superior quality. Among the finest of a relatively tiny group of Gem survivors from a sizable mintage of more than 2.8 million coins, this superior 1901-S eagle is worthy the strongest bids. One would be hard pressed to find a better example of the issue at the MS-65 level.

PCGS# 8749. NGC ID: 267S.

From the Dr. Paul and Rosalie Zito Collection. Acquired March 10, 1997.

Estimate: $ 4000
