HGC-4, 1597; Kroll-8; SNG Cop-31. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. A survivor from an exceptionally interesting time in intellectual history, this coin was a contemporary of Socrates. Though there is wear and a noted test cut, this piece will make for a nice example for the collector on a budget or someone seeking a pieces of classical history.
