1881 Gold Dollar. MS-66 (PCGS).
Outstanding satin surfaces are silky smooth in texture with a fully brilliant, sparkling golden appearance as issued. Though just 7,620 examples of the date were struck for intended circulation, the vast majority of today's surviving specimen are in Mint State grades, often reaching into the Gem category, as here. This beautiful piece has a solid future in an advanced type set or gold dollar cabinet.
