Engraved Coins, Love Tokens, and Coin Jewelry

Engraved Fraternal Piece Fashioned out of an 1853-Dated Liberty Seated Half Dollar.

The reverse of the host coin is engraved with NORTHERN STAR COUNCIL / No. 4 / H (a pictorial hand) J / 1871 / PHILADA. / PA., surrounded by the letters T K C F N D O Z B. The coin is holed at the top for suspension. The only reference to the Northern Star Council is a Boy Scout organization based in Minnesota, but it was not in existence until 1910. This is most likely a fraternal organization of some kind, but further research is needed and encouraged.
