Description

Counterstamps

(D)ONALD / (BALE OF WHEAT) / (B)AKER in a circle logo punch on an 1820 Matron Head large cent. Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Good.

A very detailed stamp that has unfortunately not been impressed fully on the left side. The central motif of a stack of wheat suggests a bakery, further hinted at by the Baker last name of the stamper.

From the Steve M. Tompkins Collection. Earlier ex John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, acquired from Lester Merkin.

Estimate: $ 175
