Counterstamps
EAYRS & CO (curved) / NASHUA counterstamped in separate serrated box punches on both sides of an 1838 Braided Hair large cent. Brunk E-25, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Fine.
Eayrs & Co. were makers of carpenter block planes working in the 1840s & 1850s in Nashua, NH. These exact stamps are found on several planes seen by the consignor. A large and impressive counterstamp!
