Counterstamps

J. HORSLEY on an 1848 Braided Hair large cent. Brunk H-768, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Fine.

John Horsley was a blacksmith working in Metamora, IN in the 1850s. Brunk gives no attribution for this counterstamp and the only example reported is this exact coin.
