STICKLER in a box punch counterstamped on an 1820 Matron Head large cent. Brunk S-969, Rulau-NY 800. Host coin Fine, with a few scratches on both sides.
John Stickler was a New York City silversmith in the 1820s whose biographical information is listed in a previous lot. This is the same stamp found on his silverware. This is a date not reported by Brunk or Rulau.
