Description

Counterstamps

D. ROWLEY in a box punch on an 1856 Liberty Seated dime. Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Very Good.

D. Rowley was silversmith working in New Bedford, MA. More research needs to be done to determine when he worked and other particulars, the Massachusetts directories being a good place to start. This appears to be the only currently known example.

From the Steve M. Tompkins Collection.

Estimate: $ 200
