PITTSBURGH in a box punch on an 1803 Draped Bust large cent. Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Very Good.
This is a silversmith’s location stamp which was used when making silverware, in conjunction with the makers name. A look through the marks of Pittsburgh, PA silversmiths should find a match for this well punched mark.
