Friend Miller (1828-1872) was a silversmith, pewtersmith and silverplater working in Wallingford, CT. On the 1850 census he is listed as a buffer and on the 1860 census he was listed as a button manufacturer! He partnered with several other silversmiths in 1866 forming SIMPSON, HALL, MILLER & Co. He has design patent #118,630 issued on August 29, 1871 for an improvement in ice pitchers.
