Thomas H. Carson (1785-1868) and Green Hall (1782-1863) worked as silversmiths in Albany, NY from 1814 to 1819 with a shop at 34 State St. Carson worked in Albany from 1810 to 1813 prior to the partnership and Hall worked in New York City from 1808 to 1813. The firm advertised its dissolution on September 28th, 1819 according to Ensko. After the breakup of the firm, Carson went on to work in Pittsfield, MA from 1819 to 1825, eventually coming back to Albany and was listed as a jeweler in the 1850 census. Hall continued to work in Albany and was a partner in several other firms, most notably with John D. Hewson. He was still listed as a silversmith on the 1850 census. Brunk only shows one example reported on a 1776 4 reales, so this is a previously unreported example and type.
