This VERY RARE host coin and denomination are seldom seen on the market and heavily sought after. The countermark is slightly obscured by the host design elements showing signs of degradation indicative of extensive use. This moderately worn survivor offers much originality displaying attractive rich old envelope patina with areas of richer coloration sure to please. The 4 Reales is the second rarest silver denomination from this countermark series with a combined total of just 19 examples that we have recorded. The rarest silver denomination is the 1 Real which we have only 12 examples recorded.
