Lot of (2) 1866 Fenian Brotherhood Medals. Brass.
29 mm. Obv: IRISH REPUBLIC / F B / and a sailing ship on the front. Rev: IRELAND / 18(shamrocks)66 / and depicting clasped hands and a sunrise. Included are: Extremely Fine; and Very Fine. Both examples are holed, as made, with the more worn example having a double hole. At the time these medals were produced, the Fenian Brotherhood was engaged in attacking British ships and forts across the border in Canada from the relative safety of their homes in the United States.
