Admiral Vernon Medals
1739 Admiral Vernon Fort Chagre Medal. Adams-Chao FCv 3-B, M-G 187. Rarity-5. Bath Metal. VF-35 (PCGS).
39.1 mm. A warmly and originally patinated example dressed in even medium brown. Plenty of bold striking detail remains, the surfaces also retaining glints of satiny luster that are uncommon attributes at the assigned grade level. Smooth and inviting in hand with strong visual appeal. The authors of the 2010 Adams-Chao reference on Admiral Vernon medals consider the reverse of this variety the best in the Fort Chagre series.
