Description

Ireland, George III (1760-1820), copper Halfpenny, 1760, Voce Populi, square type laureate head right, type six Latin legend and reeded border surrounding, VOCE POPULI, rev. Hibernia seated left holding olive branch in right arm, spear in left, Irish harp below right, date in exergue, HIBERNIA above round, edge plain, 7.29g (KM TN22; D&F 571; Nelson 9). Toned with appealing surfaces, some wear on reverse highpoints, graded by NGC as AU55 Brown.

NGC Certification 6674778-003

The Latin legends translate as on obverse as “Voice of the People,” and on the reverse as “Ireland.”
