Victoria (1837-1901), silver Halfcrown, 1887, type A5, inferior workmanship, young head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. inverted die axis, crowned quartered shield of arms within laurel and oak wreath, Latin legend surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge milled, 14.15g (Bull 2769; Davies 597; ESC 717; S.3888). Toned, some light patches, otherwise well struck shield elements, extremely fine.
Calendar year mintage 261,700 The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
