William IV (1830-37), silver proof Halfcrown, 1831, bare head right, W.W. incuse on truncation for designer and engraver William Wyon, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:, rev. inverted die axis, quartered shield of arms within crowned escutcheon of the Arms of Hanover, date ANNO 1831 below, edge plain (Bull 2473; Davies 320; ESC 657; S.3834A). Attractively toned with some light surface marks, graded by NGC as PF63 Cameo.

NGC Certification 6318417-003

The Latin legend translates as “William the Third by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith.”
