A ROMAN BRONZE JUG HANDLE IN THE FORM OF A PARROT
Circa 1st-2nd century AD.
Finely worked and decorated handle of a jug in the shape of a perching parrot with long tail feathers. The two curved terminals that would 'embrace' the mouth of the jug are shaped in the form of swan heads, the beaks now missing. All with incised decoration. Small part of the lower end of the handle not preserved.
