Description

THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 440-400 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 5.82 g, 1 h). Thessalos, naked but for cloak and petasos flying in the air behind him, holding a band around the forehead of a bull leaping to left. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ /ΣΑΙΑ Horse galloping to right winthin incuse square. BCD Thessaly II 173-4. HGC 4, 420. Lightly toned. Minor flan fault on obverse; rough surfaces on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
