Description

MYSIA. Kyzikos. Circa 550-450 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10.5 mm, 2.63 g), struck circa 480. Lion seated to left, roaring with open jaws and raising his right forepaw; below, tunny swimming to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. BMFA 1452. SNG Paris 216-8. SNG von Aulock 7297. Von Fritze 85. Rare. Attractive, toned and with a lively lion. Minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
