KINGS OF ARMENIA. Artaxias I, 190-160 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 13 mm, 2.33 g, 3 h), second series with Greek inscriptions. Diademed head of Artaxias I to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with a star. Rev. [BA]ΣΙΛΕΩΣ - APTAΞEPΞOY Cornucopia tied with a fillet; to outer right, [CA]; to outer left, XP. Kovacs 46. Vardaryan 89,1 (As Artaxias II). A very rare late chalkous, with brown surfaces and unusually complete legends. Obverse struck from a slightly worn – as usual – die, otherwise, very fine.
