LUCANIA. Sybaris IV. Circa 446-440 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 11 mm, 1.61 g, 2 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing a crested Attic helmet adorned with a hippocamp on the bowl. Rev. ΣΥΒ Bull standing to right on groundline, his head turned back to left. Unpublished save for its auction appearance, NAC 52, 2009, 35. Apparently unique. Clear, with a dark green patina and of unusual interest. Good very fine.
