Description

ISLANDS OFF CARIA, Kos. Circa 285-258 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 14.95 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Kleinos. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. K-ΩIO-N / ΚΛEINOΣ Crab; below, bow in bowcase; all within pelleted square border. BMC 43 var. HGC 6, 1308. Requier 35 (D12/R24). SNG von Aulock 2753. Attractive and well-centered with a grey toning. Some flatness, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
