A lovely, well- struck and well-centered example. Extremely fine. From a European collection. The hemistaters of Alexander are quite astonishingly rare, and are missing from many major collections. The presence of a symbol on the obverse, the thunderbolt, makes this issue even more unusual since obverse symbols or letters only very rarely appear on Alexander's gold coins.
