CARTHAGE. Circa 350-340 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 9.16 g, 6 h). Head of Tanit to left, wearing a triple pendant earring, a necklace, tied at the back and hung with seven pendants, and a wreath of grain leaves. Rev. Horse standing to right; pellet below the horse on the upper left and just before the left fore hoof; in exergue, inscription-like pattern. Jenkins & Lewis Group IIIa 6 = SNG Lloyd 1656 ( same dies ). A very rare example of an early issue of Group III. Clear and attractive. Some minor die faults and flatness, otherwise, good very fine.
