Italy, Kingdom of Naples. Philip II of Spain. 1554-1598. Carlino (Silver, 22mm, 3.02 g 6), first period, as king of England, France and Naples, and prince of Spain, mintmaster Giovan Battista Ravaschieri, 1548-1567, undated, but 1554-1556. PHILIP.R.ANG.FR.NEAP.PR.HI. Crowned head of Philip II to right; behind head, IBR; below neck, rosette and three dots. Rev. FID / EI / . /DEFEN / SOR All within wreath tied at the bottom and with a cross at the top. CNI XX, p. 36, 306. MIR 165. PR 15. Attractively toned and with a strong portrait. About extremely fine.
