CELTIC, Balkan Region. Uncertain mint, copying Histiaia. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 14 mm, 1.99 g, 12 h), a contemporary Celtic imitation. Slightly barbarized vine-wreathed head of nymph Histiaia to right. Rev. [IΣTI]-AIEΩN Nymph seated right on stern of galley decorated with wing; in exergue, two monograms. Cf. BCD Euboia 429, especially for the obverse. An interesting imitation, well-centered and bright. Nearly extremely fine.
