Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.63 g, 12 h), struck under Philip III, Teos, circa 323-316. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer, driving chariot drawn by two horses trotting to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, Sigma-monogram. Le Rider pl. 90, 13 (same dies). SNG ANS 320. Thompson 125. Very well-centered, struck in high relief and lustrous. Minor die faults beneath Apollo's eye, otherwise, good extremely fine.
