PHRYGIA. Acmoneia. Nero, 54-68. Hemiassarion (Orichalcum, 18 mm, 4.15 g, 11 h), struck under the archon Lucius Servenius Capito, with his wife Iulia Severa. NEPON KAIΣAP ΣEBAΣTOΣ Laureate head of Nero to right; in field to left, kerykeion; in field to right, crescent with points upwards. Rev. ΣEPOYHNIOY KAΠITΩNOΣ KAI IOYΛIAΣ ΣEOYHPAΣ AKMONEΩN Zeus seated left on throne, holding patera and scepter; at his feet to left, owl; in upper field to left, monograms of EΠI and APX. BMC 41. RPC I 3174. SNG Copenhagen 28. A pleasing coin with a noble, idealized portrait of Nero. Good very fine.
The fact that the coin is not merely signed by the annual archon, but by his wife as well, is notable. It undoubtedly shows that the issue was paid for by the archon and his family as a whole, and that Servenius was so proud of his wife that he wanted to include her; could it be that his money came from his wife's family?
