The Carthaginians in Sicily and North Africa.
Tetradrachm, Entella circa 350-340, AR 17.94 g. Head of Tanit (Kore-Persephone) r., wearing barley-wreath, earrings and necklace; in l. field, poppy and in r., two dolphins. Rev. Horse standing r. before palm tree. Boston, MFA 493 (this obverse die). Jenkins, Punic Sicily III, 105.
Struck on a very fresh metal and with a light iridescent tone. Hairline flan crack
at three o'clock on reverse, otherwise extremely fine
