Charles I, Shrewsbury mint, halfcrown, 1642, m.m. book on obverse only, struck from an Aberystwyth obverse die (obv. C), obv., spirited horseman of fine style riding left, small plume behind, rev., Declaration with single plume between two pellets above, 15.05g (Morr. A-1; Brooker 811, this piece; N. 2371; S. 2927), very fine or better and extremely rare Provenance: J.G. Murdoch, Sotheby’s, 8 June 1903, lot 183; Spink’s Numismatic Circular, May 1911 (85789); G.
