Description

Queen’s South Africa, 1899-1902, 3rd type reverse, 6 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Laing’s Nek, Belfast (3819. Pte H. Walsh. The Queen’s.), toned, minor edge bruise, good very fine Private Henry Walsh was born c.1874 in Madras, India, and enlisted for service in 1892. He is confirmed on the Q.S.A. Medal Roll as having served with the 2nd Battalion, The Queens Regiment during the Boer War in South Africa (although roll suggests entitlement to only 3 clasps), and is also entitled to a 2-clasp I.G.S. 1895-1908.
