★ An attractive early trihemiobol from Knidos (Cahn 1) ★
CARIA. Knidos. Circa 500 BC. Trihemiobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.79 g, 12 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing taenia; all within incuse square. Cahn 1 (V1/R1). SNG Copenhagen 249 ( same dies ). Beautifully toned. The obverse struck slightly off center and with a die break on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
