Description

PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darios I to Xerxes II, circa 485-420 BC. Double Siglos (Silver, 15 mm, 5.56 g), Sardes or subsidiary mint. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding spear and bow. Rev. Incuse punch. BMC Arabia pl. XXIV, 17. Carradice Type IIIb A/B (pl. XII, 17). Banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
