SICILY. Syracuse. Dionysios I, 405-367 BC. Drachm (Bronze, 31 mm, 31.91 g, 5 h), circa 395-367. ΣYPA Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with wreath. Rev. Sea-star between two confronted dolphins. CNS II 62. HGC 2, 1436. SNG ANS 454-8. An unusually well struck and beautifully patinated example of this impressive issue. Very minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, about extremely fine.
