Description
ISLAMIC, Mongols. Chaghatayid Khans. temp. Qaidu, AH 668-700 / AD 1270-1301. Dirham (Silver, 25 mm, 1.93 g). ‘al-mulk lillāh / al-ḥamd lillāh’ (‘The kingdom is Allah’s. Praise be to Allah’ in Arabic); effaced mint and date formula around. Rev. Tamgha of Qaidu with ornate patterns around; effaced marginal legend. Album 1985 (temp. Tuqa Timur, circa AH 670-690 / AD 1272-1291). Rare. Struck slightly off center and with areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
