Description

CAPPADOCIA. Caesaraea-Eusebia. Hadrian, 117-138. Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 6.39 g, 6 h), 128-138. ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹЄΒΑϹΤΟϹ Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with aegis on his left shoulder. Rev. ΥΠΑΤΟϹ Γ ΠΑΤΗΡ ΠΑΤΡ Mount Argaios surmounted by statue of Sol-Helios, radiate, holding globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Ganschow 169d. RPC III online 3091.3 ( this coin ). Sydenham, Caesarea Suppl., 266a. Very rare. Slightly porous, otherwise, nearly very fine.
