CILICIA. Tarsus. Hadrian, 117-138. Tridrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 8.74 g, 12 h). ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΘΕ ΤΡA ΠΑΡ ΥΙ ΘΕ ΝΕΡ ΥΙ ΤΡΑI ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹEB Laureate head of Hadrian to right. Rev. TΑΡϹΕΩΝ ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩϹ City-goddess, turreted and veiled, seated left, holding palm in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; at feet to left, river-god Kydnos, crowned with wreath of sedge, swimming left; on Tyche, countermark: A-M-K and laureate bust of Caracalla to right within oval incuse. Prieur 761. RPC III online 3262.13 ( this coin ). For countermark, Howgego 843. Nicely toned. Some graffiti on the obverse and with minor weakness from countermarking, otherwise, good fine.
