Description

CENTRAL GAUL. Uncertain tribe. Mid-late 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 13 mm, 1.63 g, 3 h), 'Tanzendes Männlein' type. Male figure dancing to right, his head turned back to left, holding a torque in his right hand and a snake in his left, and with a second torque hanging from his waist. Rev. Horse standing right, head turned back to left; all within zigzag border. Flesche 408. LT 9396. Schulze-Forster type I A1. SLM 1118-1120. Slightly porous, otherwise, very fine.
