★ A very rare denga of Vasili II Vasiliyevich Tyomniy ★

RUSSIA, Grand Principality of Muscovy. Vasili II Vasiliyevich Tyomniy (the Blind), 1425-1462. Denga (Silver, 15 mm, 0.39 g), Moscow, after 1447. Knyaz Velikiy Vasiliy ('The Great Prince Vasili' in Russian) Horseman (St. George?) to right, spearing down dragon or serpent; before, two pellets. Rev. Diademed head to right; before head, three pellets; around, partly illegible legend in Russian. Spassky pl. 57, 11. Very rare. Nicely toned. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, about very fine.
