Description

Lucius Appuleius Saturninus, 104 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.87 g, 12 h), Rome. Head of Roma to left, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. L•SATVRN Saturn driving quadriga to right, holding harpa in his right hand and reins in his left; below horses, horizontal I flanked by two pellets. Babelon (Appuleia) 1. Crawford 317/3a. RBW 1171 var. (differing letter on the reverse). Sydenham 578. Nicely toned. Minor corrosion and with light scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
