Man. Aemilius Lepidus, 114-113 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.88 g, 7 h), Rome. Laureate head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind, star (mark of value). Rev. MN•AEMILIO• Equestrian statue to right on pedestal with three arches; between the arches, L-E-P. Babelon (Aemilia) 7. Crawford 291/1. RBW 1124. Sydenham 554. Beautifully toned. Light scratches, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, acquired from Calicó (with collector's ticket).
