Description

Anonymous, circa 209-208 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.82 g, 12 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing crested and winged helmet; behind, X (mark of value). Rev. ROMA (in partial linear frame) The Dioscuri, each holding spear, on horseback galloping right; above their heads, two stars; below, anchor. Crawford 50/2. RBW 186. Sydenham 144. Light marks and the reverse a bit weak, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, privately acquired from Harlan J. Berk (with original dealer's ticket).
